Throughout the week, Gi read and played out researched messages and stories from parents of how they’re coping during a difficult time and what they’re doing to combat their own feelings loneliness and boredom with tips and advice on how to keep the little ones occupied.
63% of parents under the age of five have reported feelings of loneliness during the pandemic. The wellbeing of parents of young children is a matter very close to Giovanna’s heart which made her the perfect host for this series of programmes. Magic gave us the peak audience lunchtime slot where Gi could share advice and support combined with her own personal experiences on being a parent to young children and dealing with the impacts of the pandemic.
Our aim wasn’t to dwell on the problem but encourage, embolden and inspire action with plenty of laughs and smiles along the way.
“Thank you for your honesty, for easing the mum guilt and for everything you stand for as a parent.” (Listener, Sophia)
From a personality perspective Giovanna was and is a great fit for the station, and the subject matter was both timely and relevant. Overall, it was an uplifting and timely week of programming, and clearly lifted the spirits of many of our listeners.
