United By The Bucket

We were asked by the team at KFC UK to create an internal podcast designed to celebrate and amplify the diverse communities within the company. Through personal stories and experiences, the podcast fosters inclusivity and connection among KFC’s 30,000 team members across the UK and Ireland, spotlighting the brand’s commitment to belonging and diversity.

The episodes feature personal stories from KFC team members across the UK and Ireland, highlighting affinity groups like Wolfpack to inspire female leaders and KFPride, supporting and speaking out for the company’s LGBTQIA+ communities. Designed with an exciting, vibrant sound, it’s crafted to be engaging and accessible to all teams, making it easy to connect with the diverse communities within KFC.

Strategy

KFC UKI tasked us with helping them create a podcast series to unite their 30,000 team members and amplify diverse communities in the business as part of their RADIO initiative (Raising Awareness of Diversity, Inclusion, and Origin). The goal? To celebrate the voices of groups like Wolfpack and KFPride, making sure every team member felt seen and heard.

Production

Our first step was advising the team on setting up a fully equipped studio at KFC HQ to make sure everything sounded on point. From there, we focused on scripting and producing vibrant, fun, and engaging episodes. While the best podcast episodes may sound like effortless conversations, it’s all about being well-prepared behind the scenes.

Fortunately, KFC already had a fantastic host in Shaffra Gray-Read, whose energy and authenticity helped bring out those stories, encouraging open conversations around diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

The United By The Bucket podcast has been a great experience to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion of origin within the KFC UKI community

Distribution

To keep the podcast exclusive to KFC’s internal audience, we opted for a private feed (we love using Transistor for this!). This allowed for easy sharing throughout their teams with a simple link and easy access through their internal platform.
